About the Author
J. Preston Eby was born into a Mennonite family in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. While still a toddler his parents received the baptism in the Holy Spirit through the witness of some Pentecostal brethren in the area. They were led of the Lord to sell their business and move to Alabama to do missionary work. In his twelfth year Preston was filled with the Spirit – and in that same year the Holy Spirit sovereignly unfolded to his understanding the wonderful truth of the reconciliation of all things and all men unto God. No one else around him – in family or church associations – embraced this revelation. Through those early years he kept this truth to himself and pondered it in his heart. Later he came into contact with, and was touched by, a mighty move of the Spirit known as the "Latter Rain", with emphasis on the body of Christ, gifts of the Spirit, laying on of hands, impartation, five-fold ministry, prophetic ministry, spiritual worship, the kingdom of God, and going on to perfection, unto fullness of sonship to God. The Lord pressed him into a deeper walk with Him, intensifying within his heart the truths of sonship and the kingdom of God, already planted within as seed through the visitation of the Lord as Latter Rain. Along the way he became associated with brother Gerald Derstine and The Gospel Crusade in Sarasota, Florida, serving as an associate minister with him for eight years, first co-pastoring and later pastoring the Revival Tabernacle in that city. His wife Lorain and he, with their family, were on the mission field in Latin America for a total of five years, with ministry in several other areas as well. For seven years, following this, he was an elder in a fellowship of believers in El Paso, Texas where they witnessed a precious move of the Spirit and a body of saints flowing together in the liberty and life of the Spirit. Eventually the Lord led him into a full-time writing ministry directed to those who are called and chosen as elect of God to grow up into the full stature of Jesus Christ as sons of God

As Sir Cumference prepares for battle, he asks Rounds 2 to retrieve the bow and arrow counts. While these items have been counted, they have not yet been totaled, and Rounds 2 is left to complete the calculations himself. By rounding up or down to the nearest 10, Rounds quickly completes the task in what soon becomes known around the castle as the Rounds 2 Method. You can make anything happen."Cindy Neuschwander is a native Californian born in San Diego, but she has lived in many places, including Germany, England, Austria, and Hawaii. She received a BA in international studies from Willamette University and an MA in education from Stanford University. She has been teaching since 1975, both at the high school and elementary levels. As a mathematics education specialist, Cindy sought ways to make math fun, interesting, and comprehensible to her students. In 1992, while living in England, Cindy began working on her first book with this goal in mind. Sir Cumference and the First Round Table took five years to reach publication, but it remains a very popular book for its presentation of math concepts as well as for its amusing and exciting story. Some years ago, we stumbled upon these books at the library. They were an instant hit - every single one in the Sir Cumference series! We check out lots of books but this one the children remembered. In fact, we hadn't checked these out for a couple of years when one son started a new geometry section in math and asked me to get these again so he could review! My preschooler thinks of these as fun stories and enjoys the illustrations while the older crew is making the connections to mathematical concepts they are learning. For example, one child always keeps diameter and radius straight because of the book characters (Radius is the little guy!). I highly recommend this series as enjoyable literature that will help your children remember their geometry. The books also have an object or character (jester, seagull, rat, cat, etc.) that appears on most pages which is an extra bit of fun to look for. I love the rich colors and oil painting technique too (I may be wrong about the oil painting but that's the feel of it). I decided these belong in our home library and was especially pleased that Amazon was running its buy 3 get 1 free promotion just then.

Big fan of Cindy Neushwander's Sir Cumference series. We have them all so it was nice to find a new installment. We had been reading this series to our daughter when she was five years old. She loves them now even at seven. Earlier, she didn't understand the mathematical concepts in the books but over time she began to "discover" things about the book and would run tell us. Love that the author was able to engage children and make math concepts not only fun, but able to show them in use throughout the books.

The Sir Cumference books are great for kids interested in math. My 8yo son, who loves math, devours these, though my 8yo daughter who is not interested in math, finds these uninteresting as well. But they teach concepts in a really great, fun way.

We enjoyed this book a lot. In fact we enjoy most all of the Sir Cumference books alot.

This is a great book. It has lots of mathematical elements while also being fun for middle school students. I, as a math teacher, enjoyed reading this book to my students. The math terms that tie the book together are very creative in the way they are presented. If you are reading this book to a class of middle school students, it will take from ten to fifteen minutes to read completely if the class is attentive. The math described in the book can help students to remember those terms later.

The students really enjoyed this Sir Cumference book. I really enjoy the Sir Cumference series, and the students do also. They good hooked by the story, and they learn Math concepts as well.
